Troop 540,
Thanks to Mr. Nebrasky, he has done some research and put together an awesome trip for the troop this summer to go to Gettysburg, PA. The trip will be held from Friday, August 21st until Sunday, August 23rd.
We will be looking into booking a hotel and getting a group rate for the two nights. This will be a family trip, so the scouts, parents and siblings are invited as well. We are also going to book a chartered bus while we’re down there, with a personally guided tour for the troop and their families. The bus can hold around 50 people.
The estimated cost of the trip will be around $150 per night in the hotel. Add the cost for the bus tour and other activities like: The National Park Center, Day in a Life of a Soldier, Seminal Ridge Museum and a ghost tour, it would be an additional $72 per adult and $66 per scout or child.
I know that this will be a lot of fun and very educational. If any families feel that they can’t afford to go on the trip but your son is interested in going, please speak with me privately at the next meeting.
We need to get a head count by December 1st, as to how many from each family will be attending. We will take the first 50 people that reply to book this trip.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Jon Hess – Scoutmaster, Troop 540
