Camping Trip

Troop 540,

We are all set for our camping trip in the Paden cabin at Bullowa this weekend.  Here is a link to the  map of the camp:

http://www.hudsonvalleyscouting.org/openrosters/DocDownload.aspx?orgkey=2364&id=77998

We will focus on requirements for this trip.  If any of the scouts have a game or sport that they would like to do this weekend, bring your stuff on the trip.  We will meet at the camp at 6:30pm on Friday.  Please have dinner before you come.  We will cook all three meals on Saturday and have a light breakfast on Sunday.  Please plan to pick up your scouts on Sunday morning at 8:00am SHARP as I have to get the trailer back to Sacred Heart and get to a soccer practice at MWHS by 10:30am.

Please bring snow gear; especially water proof boots and extra socks.

See you all on Friday!

Thanks,

Jon Hess – Scoutmaster, Troop 540

Meeting Tomorrow Night

Troop 540,

The green bar will be meeting at 7:00pm to finalize the remainder of the scout hiking/camping schedule for the year.  We will also be finalizing the plans for the trailer.

The general meeting will start at 7:30pm.  We will be getting a head count, as to how many scouts are going camping this weekend at Bullowa in the Paden (nicest).  We will also be handing out food assignments.  If any scout has an idea for a meal, please present it for tomorrow.  I will also be looking for adult volunteers for this trip.

Merit badge counselors, I haven’t heard from some of you.  Here’s what I have regarding merit badges and the counselors.  Please let me know if you are willing to continue or if you want to drop out.  If any of the other parents want to sign up to be a merit badge counselor, please see me tomorrow.

Camping Overnight Cancelled

Troop 540,

Unfortunately, we are going to have to cancel the camping trip this weekend, due to low numbers of scouts and no other  parent having the availability to help out.

Everyone, please mark your calendars for the next camping trip.  It will be at Bullowa in the Paden cabin (nicest cabin) from Friday, 1/29/16 to Sunday, 1/31/16.  Again, we need at least two adult leaders/volunteers present at all times for both nights.

Thank you,

Jon Hess – Scoutmaster, Troop 540
