Camp Bullowa – Winter Camping

  • Please reply if interested in going winter camping in the newer Paden Cabin on Fri. 2/10 – Sun. 2/12.

  • For all those interested in participating in Scout Sunday, please join us at 9:45am for 10 am mass – Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monroe.
  • Please wear your Class A uniform. This Sunday, Superbowl Sunday.

Summer Camp

  • If interested at this point (preliminary) in attending Summer Camp at Ten Mile River (Aug. 6 – 11, 2017), please reply.

TONIGHT’S MEETING CANCELLED

All,

Tonight’s meeting (Tues. 1/10/17) is cancelled due to expected inclement weather. Monroe Woodbury schools have cancelled all after school activities. See you 1/17/17 (Tues.) for our next meeting.

Our big recruiting session with the Woodbury Cub Pack is set for Mon. 1/23/17 – 5:00pm at Central Valley Elementary – Small Cafeteria. Please plan to attend. this is a key recruiting event for the future of our troop. Please plan to bring photos and stories. More to discuss at our next troop meeting on 1/17/17.

Camping Overnight Cancelled

Unfortunately, we are going to have to cancel the camping trip this weekend, due to low numbers of scouts and no other  parent having the availability to help out.  
 
Everyone, please mark your calendars for the next camping trip.  It will be at Bullowa in the Paden cabin (nicest cabin) from Friday, 1/29/16 to Sunday, 1/31/16.  Again, we need at least two adult leaders/volunteers present at all times for both nights.

Troop Meeting Cancelled for Tonight

Troop 540,

The weather is showing that there will be a 100% chance of snow tonight. The meeting for tonight will be cancelled. We’ll see you all next Tuesday night.

Brandon Nebiker, I have received your letter from council. You have permission to schedule your eagle board of review. You should contact the district eagle coordinator (Donna Helt) now at (845) 566-7300 to schedule your board of review.

Ty Kohrs and Marc Rodriguez, you guys should start looking to purchase a zero-degree sleeping bag, a head light and a mess kit. We will be camping in the next couple of months and you will need these items.

Troop Meeting Cancelled

Good Morning Troop 540,

I hope you’re all safe, warm and at home today. The meeting for tonight has been cancelled due to the weather. We will have our Scoutmaster conference and Board of Review next Tuesday.

I will also be handing out the neckerchiefs then.

I’d like to get a report from the merit badge counselors as to what the progress has been with your scouts. If you could all email me back and let be know how many scouts have completed their requirements, how many are a partial and how many didn’t even start. Thanks. My goal would be to have the merit badges complete in the next month; if possible.

Here are some upcoming dates for future events:

  • Friday, 2/13/15 – Albany Indoor Rock Climbing: We arrive at 8:00pm on Friday and will leave the facility at 8:00am sharp on Saturday, 2/14/15
  • Friday, 3/13/15, to Sunday, 3/15/15 – Camp Nooteeming: We will be using the rifle range that Saturday morning
  • Friday, 4/17/15 to Sunday, 4/19/15 – Camp Wabanaki: We will be using backpacks and hiking into the camp from a remote location

See you all next Tuesday in North Main. Those that are up for the Scoutmaster conference, please be dressed in your full class “A” uniforms.
