Welcome to our new scout year!

I think we had a fun and exciting year; ending with an awesome trip to Gettysburg. Thank you again to Mr. Nebrasky for planning a very successful trip.

We are going to begin our scout year on Tuesday, September 8th at 7:30pm in the North Main cafeteria. One action item that I need to address is that a number of scouts owe money to their accounts from previous activities. Also, Ranachqua had billed scouts that took special eagle merit badges, an additional $30. We will also be collecting the registration fees for the year in the month of September. We should have an amount for you in the next couple of weeks. We will need to collect all outstanding money from the scouts in the troop by the end of the month. One important reason is because without the proper registration, a scout is not technically insured by the BSA. This means that the scout will not be allowed to participate in any scout activities, including troop meetings.

Maura Crown will have the list of what each scout owes to the troop. I will be checking with her to make sure that the accounts are paid up, before I can let a scout do any troop activities. If any scout requires financial assistance, please speak to myself or Mrs. Donahue privately and we may be able to help you.

Important update on Gettysburg information

Please note I have updated the itinerary for the Gettysburg trip. You will see the changes in bold. Some of the important changes are clarification on meals and travel to sites. Breakfast is included in the price of the hotel room and I have noted where we will meet in the mornings and the distances to sites.

Last but not least, as far as the tour of the battlefield goes and any other tours, everything is included except for tips for the driver and tour guide. Please feel free to tip at your discretion.

Gettysburg Trip

Troop 540,

Those families that are going on the Gettysburg trip need to hand in their final payments tomorrow night. Due to the poor weather predictions, the movie will be cancelled for tomorrow night. However, we will still need to collect final payment from those families that are going on the trip. I will be home and available tomorrow night from 6:00-10:00pm tomorrow night.

Again, the final half of the payment is as follows: $46.65 per adult and $43.40 per child. Please make the checks payable to Troop 540. If you don’t plan on making it tomorrow, I need you to mail the checks tomorrow to my house.

Gettysburg Trip – Subway Lunch Order

I’ve only heard back from one family regarding the Subway lunch order for those families that are going on the Gettysburg trip. Please get back to me, NO LATER TOMORROW (8/6) with your orders. Again, I need to know what each member of your family wants for a sandwich and a drink.

Gettysburg Trip

Good Morning.

Just a reminder that the balance for the Gettysburg trip is due now. You can hand in the final checks, made payable to, “Troop 540” in the amount of $42 per adult and $38.75 per child on Tuesday, August 11th at my house. We will be showing a movie about Gettysburg that night, starting at 7pm. We will collect the final money then. For those families that are going to Gettysburg and would like to join us for the movie, my address is: 6 Crescent Place, Monroe.

Also, I need to know what type of Subway sandwiches and drinks each member of your family wants. Please let me know this, NO LATER THAN THIS THURSDAY NIGHT (8/6/15), otherwise, if I don’t hear back from you, I will just order a turkey sandwich on wheat with a Cola for you.

Gettysburg Trip – Balance Due

Troop 540,

The balance for the Gettysburg trip is due now. You can start to hand in the final checks, made out to “Troop 540”, in the amount of: $42 per adult and $38.75 per child. This fee is the remaining balance of the trip. The deadline to get your money in will be on Tuesday, August 11th. We will be showing a movie about Gettysburg at my house, starting at 7pm. We will collect the final money then. For those families that are going to Gettysburg and would like to join us for the movie, my address is: 6 Crescent Place, Monroe.
